Embroidery Guidelines & Thread Colors

Embroidery uses thread instead of ink, giving your design a unique, textured finish. Because of this, embroidered results may differ slightly from digital previews shown in our design tool.

  • The on-screen preview is for visualization only; it does not represent the exact stitched result.
  • Unless otherwise specified on the product page, designs are limited to a maximum of 6 thread colors.
  • Some products allow full-color embroidery; these will be clearly marked.
  • Thread color appearance can vary based on lighting, screen settings, and material texture.
  • Fine details, gradients, and very small text may not stitch clearly and could be simplified for the best results.
Tips for Best Results:
Embroidery differs from printing. What looks good on a t-shirt graphic may not translate well to thread. For optimal clarity:
  • Use bold, clean lines and simple shapes.
  • Avoid overly intricate details or small text.
  • Create embroidery-specific versions of your artwork when possible.
  • If your file requires adjustments, we may place your order on hold until revised and approved.
